Project Aim
The aim of the project was to explore the feasibility of implementing a resource similar to
BASTA in Wales. The purpose of the BASTA tool is to facilitate the phasing out of hazardous substances in construction. With BASTA, products are assessed according their chemical ingredients. Suppliers are responsible for the assessment and must be able to provide documentation to support the assessment and prove competence.
EDC’s Involvement
EDC undertook the research and produced a feasibility report.
Project Outcomes
A feasibility study that will be considered for further development by the Welsh Government.
